Geometric Shape Sort

Let students practice their sorting skills with this learning center game. They must put each geometric shape into the correct container to complete the task.

Tips:

Extend the task by having students look through catalogs or magazines for pictures that fit the categories.

Instructions:

1. Cut and assemble three jumbo-sized Bag #1 die cuts. 
2. Label the assembled bags "More than 4 Sides", "Curved Sides", and "Parallel Sides". 
3. Cut geometric shapes in assorted sizes and colors. 
4. Instruct students to sort the shapes into the categories listed on the bags.
5. This activity will reinforce students' awareness of the characteristics of geometric shapes.
