Children will love making this big lacing fish so they can retell the story of Jonah being eaten by the fish. They will learn that God gave Jonah a second chance as he does all of his people. (Jonah 1-4)

You can use the lacing fish to coordinate with the story of the disciples becoming "fishers of men".

Instructions:
  1. Using construction paper or cardstock, cut two fish and one man for each child.
  2. Ask the students to lace the two halves of the fish together, leaving the mouth area open. 
  3. Stuff the fish with a small amount of tissue paper to give it dimension.
  4. Have the children color the man to look like Jonah.
  5. Let the children retell the story of Jonah and show how the big fish ate him.
