These cards are easy to make--and a fun way to teach young students beginning math concepts. In a learning center, students match a number card with the corresponding set or play a game of "concentration."

Tips:

Create a reading game by putting a beginning letter on one card and the corresponding shape on another.

Instructions:
  1. For each set, cut 10 cards from brightly colored cardstock.
  2. Cut numerals 1 through 5, and glue each number on a card.
  3. Cut assorted mini shapes.
  4. Glue one mini shape on one card, two mini shapes on another, three on another and so on, until you have five shape cards to coordinate with number cards.
