Three Pigs Story Chart

How would you like to get students to practice reading and math at the same time? Create a story problem chart like this one for your classroom, using the story of "The Three Little Pigs." Leave out the numbers, so students can engage their thinking for addition.

- Tips:
Use the back of the chart paper for more problems, so you won't have to laminate and store as many sheets. Use other children's stories for problem solving, too.
- Instructions:
1. Create story scene on chart paper, using die cuts made with AccuCut's "Three Little Pigs" dies. 2. Add title. 3. Print age-appropriate story problems on computer and glue to board, or write by hand, leaving out numbers.
To Learn: The first time you use this activity, read story aloud. Every time you use chart, change numbers to make different problems.
