The best part of Thanksgiving is...the food! Do you like turkey best or sweet potatoes? Use this interactive bulletin board to enagage students in an effective writing activity. Word balloons contain fun menus that the children make up themselves. Don't forget to add your own favorites!

- Tips:
Borders can be used for a variety of activities other than bulletin boards. For example, cut a long enough piece to put around a child's head and use as a crown.
- Instructions:
1. Cover bulletin board with Red construction paper. 2. Cut Gold border and letters. Staple to board as shown. 3. Cut small Brown turkey silhouettes and staple around border. 4. Cut jumbo Brown turkeys. 5. Cut turkey parts from smaller pieces of paper in appropriate colors: feathers, wings, feet, beak, eye, warble. Trim out parts and glue to Brown turkey bodies. 6. Cut word balloons. Give to children and tell them to write menus of foods they'd like to have at Thanksgiving--if they could have anything at all. 7. When children are finished with menus, staple to board around turkeys.
